Server Rules

Microphone Requirement Major

A working, clear microphone is mandatory for all players. Background noise, echo, or poor audio quality can ruin immersion for everyone. Text-only roleplay is not permitted unless you have an approved accessibility accommodation.

Age Requirement Severe

You must be at least 16 years old to play on SASRP. Players found to be underage will be removed immediately. No exceptions.

Respect & Maturity Major

Treat all community members with respect both in-game and in Discord. Harassment, discrimination, toxicity, and hate speech will result in immediate removal from the community.

Play to Lose Mentality Minor

We encourage a "play to lose" mentality. This doesn't mean you should always lose, but be open to losing. The best roleplay often comes from accepting defeat gracefully and building a story from it.

No Exploiting or Cheating Severe

Using exploits, cheats, mod menus, or any third-party tools to gain an unfair advantage is strictly prohibited. This includes duplication glitches, godmode, teleportation hacks, etc.

FailRP (Failure to Roleplay) Major

Always act realistically within the context of your character. Your character fears death, injury, and consequences. Examples of FailRP include:

• Driving a sports car up Mount Chiliad
• Swimming indefinitely or across the ocean
• Jumping off buildings without fear
• Running around while tased or injured
• Ignoring roleplay interactions completely

New Life Rule (NLR) Major

If your character dies and you respawn, you forget all events leading up to your death. You cannot return to the area where you died for 15 minutes, and you cannot seek revenge or continue the same scenario.

Metagaming Severe

Using information obtained outside of roleplay (streams, Discord, etc.) to influence your in-game decisions is strictly prohibited. Your character only knows what they learn in-character.

• Watching someone's stream to find their location
• Using Discord to coordinate in-game actions
• Recognizing someone by their voice when your character hasn't met them
• Knowing someone's name without proper introduction

Powergaming Major

Forcing actions on other players without giving them a chance to respond, or performing unrealistic actions to gain an advantage. Always use /me commands that allow others to respond.

Value of Life Major

Your character values their life. If someone has a gun to your head, comply. Don't run into gunfire for no reason. Act as a real person would in dangerous situations.

Character Names Minor

Use realistic, appropriate names for your characters. No famous names, meme names, or obviously fake names. Your character should have a first and last name.

RDM (Random Deathmatch) Severe

Killing or attacking other players without proper roleplay initiation is strictly prohibited. You must have a valid in-character reason and proper initiation before attacking anyone.

VDM (Vehicle Deathmatch) Severe

Using your vehicle as a weapon to intentionally hit, ram, or kill other players without valid RP reason is prohibited. Vehicles are not weapons.

Combat Initiation Major

Before engaging in combat, you must properly initiate. This means giving the other party a clear demand or threat, and reasonable time to respond (at least 5 seconds).

Combat Logging Severe

Disconnecting, alt+F4'ing, or intentionally crashing your game during an active roleplay situation (especially combat or police custody) to avoid consequences is a bannable offense.

Robbery Rules Major

When robbing players, keep it realistic and fair:

• Maximum of 4 robbers per robbery
• You may only take what makes sense (cash, phone, etc.)
• Don't rob the same person repeatedly
• No robbing in safe zones (hospital, police station)
• Must be at least 2 LEOs online to rob stores/banks

Hostage Rules Severe

Hostages must be willing participants (OOC consent) or random NPCs. You cannot take someone hostage who is AFK. Hostages cannot be friends or accomplices. Demands must be reasonable.

Green Zones / Safe Zones Major

No criminal activity, violence, or hostile roleplay in the following areas:

• Hospital (inside and immediate parking)
• Police Stations (inside and immediate parking)
• Car dealerships while actively purchasing
• Spawn areas

Realistic Driving Minor

Drive appropriately for your vehicle type. A sedan shouldn't be doing 150mph through city streets. Off-road vehicles can go off-road, but sports cars cannot climb mountains.

Traffic Laws Minor

While not strictly enforced for civilians, following basic traffic laws adds to immersion. LEO players may pull you over for traffic violations as part of roleplay.

Vehicle Storage Minor

Store your vehicle properly when done using it. Don't leave vehicles randomly parked around the map. Use garages and designated parking areas.

Aircraft & Helicopters Major

Aircraft are restricted to licensed pilots (get your license in-game). Don't land helicopters in ridiculous places. Follow realistic flight patterns and use appropriate landing zones.

Pit Maneuvers Major

Pit maneuvers should only be performed by LEO after proper escalation. No pitting at high speeds (80+ mph). No pitting motorcycles. Consider the safety of all involved.

Proper Procedures Major

LEO must follow proper police procedures. This includes Miranda rights, proper search procedures, chain of custody for evidence, and appropriate use of force escalation.

Use of Force Major

Force must be appropriate to the situation. Use the minimum force necessary. Escalation ladder: verbal commands → hands-on → taser → less-lethal → lethal (only when life is threatened).

Pursuits Minor

Not every traffic violation requires a pursuit. Use discretion. Consider public safety. Supervisors may call off pursuits if they become too dangerous.

Corruption RP Severe

Corrupt cop roleplay requires prior staff approval. You cannot randomly decide to become corrupt. All corruption arcs must be documented and approved.

Department Transfers Minor

Switching between departments requires proper in-character transfer process. You cannot just switch departments at will without RP reasoning.

Voice Chat Minor

Stay in character while using voice chat. If you need to break character, use /ooc or press the designated OOC key. Keep OOC talk to a minimum during active scenarios.

/me Commands Minor

Use /me for actions that cannot be physically shown in-game. Be descriptive but concise. Example: "/me reaches into their back pocket and pulls out a small bag"

Radio Communications Minor

Use radios realistically. They have range limits. Don't use radio while your hands should be occupied. LEO and EMS have separate encrypted channels.

Language & Content Major

This is a mature server with adult themes, but there are limits. No sexual roleplay (ERP). No excessive gore descriptions. No real-world hate speech disguised as "roleplay."

Discord Behavior Major

The same rules about respect apply in Discord. No drama, no harassment, no doxxing. Keep heated discussions civil or take them to DMs.

Report System Minor

Use the proper ticket system to report rule breaks. Include video evidence when possible. Do not call out players publicly. Let staff handle situations.

Staff Decisions Major

Staff decisions are final. If you disagree, you may appeal through proper channels. Do not argue with staff publicly or in-game. Do not staff hunt or shop for different answers.

Ban Appeals Minor

If banned, you may appeal after the specified waiting period. Appeals should be honest and show understanding of what you did wrong. Lying in appeals results in permanent denial.

Alt Accounts Severe

Using alternate accounts to evade bans or circumvent any restrictions is strictly prohibited and will result in a permanent ban on all accounts.
